Es el maximo representante de la poetica tradicionalista frente a las formas metricas italianas. Sin embargo, es considerado renacentista por su clasicismo y humanismo. Escribio obras de amor, de pasatiempo y morales. Entre sus obras destacan -Dialogo de mujeres- (1540) y -Sermon de amores- (1542).
